Memorial Day Weekend

This year on Memorial Day Weekend, we pretty much stayed home and did nothing! Well, we did something but we didn’t go anywhere except to get food & stuff.

Trent got bit by a fire ant on Thursday while mowing and by Friday, his toe had a blister that swelled to about the size of a grape. No kidding!

Saturday morning he went to the ER at about 6am. They put him on antibiotics and told him to try to stay off of his feet.

The kids and I tried to have a good time. By the look on G’s face, I’d say he had fun “playing in the water”!!!

Baby girl is 6 months!!!

IMG_5630

My oh My Little Lady, how are you already 1/2 a year old? We just can’t believe you are growing up so fast!

This month has been quite a whirlwind. You came down with Bronchiolitis after your 1st week of daycare. So for almost 2 whole weeks you had to have breathing treatments every 4 hours. You have had a nasty cough, runny nose, but luckily you haven’t had a fever. I think it’s finally wearing off now and you are getting better. Stinkin’ germs at daycare! :(

6 months

You are:

15 lbs, 8 oz (45th percentile)

26 inches long (50th percentile)

wearing size 3-6 months clothes

wearing size 2 Target brand diapers

drinking 5 oz bottles every 3 hours

You had your 1st taste of baby food: GREEN BEANS

Since you had been sick, you fell out of your regular sleeping habits. We were trying to get you in the routine of sleeping in your bed every night but now you have been back to sleeping in your Rock N Play. I think it has helped you not have so much drainage go down the back of  your throat when sleeping.

We met Justin & Hope at the Magic Time Machine and had an interesting & fun dinner. Our waiter was Superman. Grayson was not in the best of moods so he could have almost cared less that he was our waiter. A photographer came to our table and took some pictures,  then she came back with this! We nearly died laughing! made.our.night!!!

Trent’s dad was in town so they stayed home. They got me an upgraded lens for my camera for my birthday/Mother’s Day. I LOVE it!

Mom’s Day was AWESOME!!! I LOVE being a mom!

Transition

Not only did Little Miss start sleeping in her crib, she also started daycare yesterday. BIG CHANGES!

Rewind to Friday night, April 27th:
We began with our normal routine, swaddle with Miracle Blanket, up next to mommy with paci. She just wasn't having it. Screamed and cried for about 30 minutes. I didn't know what was wrong so I tried giving her another bottle. She took a little and then I let Gigi hold her on the couch until she fell asleep. Once she was asleep, she was put in her crib and didn't get up until 9 am Saturday morning.

Saturday night, she fought it. Every time she was asleep and put in the crib she would wake up and cry. I just can't bring myself to do the "cry it out method" so we co-slept that night.

Sunday night she fought it more. We gave her some teething gel on her gums to see if that would help. She went down in the crib at 2 am. I had to wake her at 6:15 to get prepared for her 1st day of daycare. I didn't get out of there without tears shed. But she had a great day. They brought Grayson in to see her and kiss her and then they took her over to visit him in his element. I think they have a great program. They record all of her feeding times, nap times, and diaper changes. You have to take your shoes off before entering the room to help keep germs out. That's a plus!

I'm hoping Miss A will get the hang of her new sleeping arrangements. If it was up to me, I would keep her next to me in her Rock n Play forever and always!!! But baby is growing...way too fast!!!
