A year has come and gone sooooo fast! It's amazing to see how my sweet baby boy has grown over the past 12 months! We had a blast celebrating his 1st Birthday and look forward to many more special moments with our boy! We couldn't love him more!♥ See how he has grown......

*Day 2 @ the hospital*

That is what this baby boy is to me. A dream. A wish my heart made, and it came true.

STREP Throat....Really???

Let me start by saying that Carolina texted me yesterday that Grayson had a fever and was laying on the floor. She said she had no idea anything was wrong. He ate good and drank his milk pretty good. She just thought he was tired and full from his big meals. But she decided to check his temp. She said it was 102 and going up. But by the time I picked him up he seemed totally fine...so I wasn't all that concerned. Then this morning Trent took him to see the dermatologist for a check-up on his birthmark. We knew it looked so much better but took him anyway for them to confirm. I told Trent to make Carolina check his temp before he left her house when he dropped Grayson off. So she checked it and he didn't have fever. But then I get a text from her at around 1pm saying his fever was high and that he didn't eat any of his lunch. I told her I would call the nurse advice line and see if they want to see him. I was on the phone with Schwab at work so I couldn't answer my cell when the nurse called me back. I listened to the message and it said that Dr. Grant would like for me to bring him in. I called the front desk and made him an appointment for 3:30. I knew I should have left a little earlier than 3:00 b/c I was sooooo late to the appointment. I didn't show up until 3:50. Baby boy was so HOT and I could tell he didn't feel good at all! :(

Dr. Grant could tell he was not feeling well. His temp was like 104. She checked his ears and they looked good. Then she looked in his throat and noticed it was really red towards the back. She decided to run a test for Strep. I didn't think he could have that since he hadn't really been coughing. The only time he would cough is after drinking milk or eating. I guess it was itching his throat. Anyway, the test came back positive. She prescribed him the pink medicine to take for 10 days. My poor little guy! I hate when he doesn't feel good! Makes mama sad!!!

We also learned that Dr. Grant will no longer be his pediatrician. Her husband got a promotion so they will be moving to Austin. She was a sweet doctor. We'll miss her!

1 Year Check-Up

Momma has been scared but finally got some good news today! Monday, Grayson had his 1year check-up and during this time we found out that he has dropped to the 5th percentile in weight! Dr. Grant said it could be completely normal since most babies stop gaining weight rapidly at around this point. She also took into consideration that he was sick for a whole week with the stomach bug and that may have caused his weight gain to slack a little bit also. But she did choose to run some tests to check his thyroid and his kidneys just to be sure everything looks good and there was no "real" reason for no weight gain in the past 3 months. So I took him to Quest Diagnostics after our appointment to have bloodwork done. That was HARD watching them stick a needle in my baby's arm! But he took it like a champ! The lady at the lab was singing "Row,Row,Row Your Boat" over and over again to keep his attention off the needle! :) So I had to wait a whole 48 hours to hear the results!!!! Talk about FOREVER!!! I just kept worrying that something might be wrong. But Dr. Grant called me today and said his results look GOOD!!! Praise the Lord!!!

Here are his 1 year stats:
Weight: 18lbs, 14oz.....5th percentile (Whoa!!!)
Height: 30.5 inches.....75th percentile
Head: 46.7 cm........50th percentile

What's Grayson been up to???

~He's off the bottle & drinking whole milk out of a sippy cup
~On table foods...no more baby food jars
~He's saying Da-Da finally!
~Still wearing size 3 diapers
~6-9 month clothes and some 12 month
~No more paci
~He's "slightly" walking along the the furniture
~He's an excellent sleeper! I hate waking him on work days!
~He knows how to give HIGH FIVES..so cute!!!

We had a little issue with his birthmark and had to take him to the dermatologist. Turns out he had some eczema develop on top of it and it was causing it to itch so he was scratching it and making it ooze! We got some cream to rub on it and it seems to be MUCH BETTER! He goes back for them to check it again on Friday.

Can't believe my little booger is ONE!!! Time has flown by so fast! ♥ this little man to pieces!!!
